With valuable resources
becoming more precious you are going to be hearing quite a bit about the
U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System.
The USGBC promotes green
building, which is healthier and more environmentally responsible. The
LEED Rating System represents the USGBC’s effort to provide a national
standard for what constitutes green building.
The LEED Rating System is
based on four progressive levels of certification (Certified, Silver,
Gold, and Platinum). Building projects earn credits toward certification
by meeting or exceeding each credit’s technical requirements.
There are six categories
within the LEED Rating System that offer the potential to earn credit
points. The category defined as Materials and Resources (MR) offers the
opportunity to earn two credit points
for Construction Waste
Management.
CDR Disposal Service, Inc.
is prepared to offer assistance with the Construction Waste Management
phase of the LEED Rating System.
We have developed a
program designed to be “user friendly”, efficient and provide you with
all the quantitative information necessary for you to utilize in earning
credit points within the Construction Waste Management category.
As a member of the West
Michigan Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, CDR is excited to
be a part of an industry that can directly impact our environment!
Contact CDR to discuss the
specifics of the LEED program and how it can benefit your construction
project.
